Writing The Alphabet

Mikelle spent a good amount of time today writing the alphabet after we worked on their daily school homework. She wrote the letters by herself with a little help from me for letters V, X, Y, and Z. She sang the alphabet song many times to know what letters comes next and was so excited to show it to Dad when he got home from work.

She as well know most of the sounds that each letter makes. She can read some words with me helping her with putting together the sounds of letters of a word like bag, bed, cat, dad, art and others. Today, she read a story of "Five Little Monkeys with Nothing To Do" to me and Rianne using the pictures of the book. She did pretty well. Way to go, Mikelle!

First Attempt to Write Names

 

Mikelle had recently been very interested in writing letters. She can write some few letters by herself like capital M, E, L, J, T and others and cute that she still write some of them backwards. Last Sunday, (August 24) she asked me to write names of our family on her paper during the Sacrament and copied them. She did pretty good. She didn't have enough time to write Rianne's and planned to include her when she got home but she forgot about it. She is a very thoughtful sister and made sure that everybody is included when she draws our family  picture. Oh, sweet Mikelle.
